Robert Dean (Bob) Ritter was born in Chicago, Illinois on November 21, 1928 to Sam and Zilpha Ritter. He passed away on December 7, 2020 at 92 years of age. He was proceeded in death by his mother and father and his older brother, Sam, Jr. Surviving him is his wife of 63 years, Olga; his daughter, Kari (Rob); his grandsons, Robert, Steven, Daniel and Matthew; and his step-grand-daughters, Tanya and Nicole (Ryan). He is also survived by his younger brother, Jack (Mary); his two nieces, Diana and Laura (Robert) and Alexander, his great-nephew. Bob moved to California and then settled in San Diego as a baby. He was in the last class at Point Loma Junior/Senior High School. When he entered 10th grade, Point Loma became Point Loma High School. He became an Eagle Scout and graduated with the class of 1946. Within a few days after graduating he enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps, which became the U.S. Air Force. After discharge he entered San Diego State College, graduating in 1953. He was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. After college he went to work with GMAC, then became an insurance agent before finding his true calling, teaching. He was on the opening staff of San Pasqual High School and retired from there in 1994. Retirement found Bob and Olga traveling in their fifth-wheel from Alaska to Florida and in 2008 they completed their goal of visiting all 49 continental states. The trailer couldn't make Hawaii. Bob mentioned often that "All in all, we've had a pretty good life" and we really did. A private family service will be at Miramar National Cemetery soon.
