I met Bob in 1967 through UCLA's graduate program in journalism along with his other classmates there.  We worked on a couple of projects together.  In 2022, I helped Bob put together a Zoom reunion of our 1968 class.  He was the Zoom host for our get- together, which we all enjoyed.  During the past couple of years, we would catch up by phone on what we were doing.   I enjoyed his recounts of his travels including those to organ music festivals and broadcasting history events involving  old radio shows.  We'd reminisce about Los Angeles television in the 1950s.   Bob had a great love of radio, which was contagious in the best sense.  He told me how he so much enjoyed his recent re-union with Stanford student radio alums.   I was impressed by Bob's recent efforts in producing radio concerts for a church and his taking classes to help as a volunteer with tv production in the  Sacrament area.  A number of his UCLA classmates have called him a true gentleman, and he was that, and a scholar of broadcasting as well.   I'll will miss our monthly catch ups and his candid and insightful assessments of so many things --political, cultural, aesthetic. .  I think there is a journalist gene, a yearning and a love for interesting stories, and Bob's was located somewhere in his heart.
