William "Bill" Cahill Carter
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William "Bill" Carter on October 19,2020 at the age of 72, just 2 days short of his 73rd birthday. He fought a courageous twelve-day battle, in the ICU, with Pulmonary Fibrosis.
Bill was born in Troy, New York to James and Kathleen Agnes Carter on October 21, 1947. Family always came first with Bill and he made sure to show it. He was the best father, husband, son, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend. Bill touched so many lives and no words can describe how much he meant to so many people. Bill loved his special time with his daughter, deep sea fishing in the Pacific Ocean and those fun camp outs with Indian Princess, among other actives.
Bill attended St. Jude Elementary School in Wynantskill, New York then graduated from Catholic Central High in Troy, New York in 1964. He furthered his education at Hudson Valley Community College, graduating in 1966 with an Associates Degree before moving to Cleveland, Ohio with his job where he graduated from Cleveland State University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering in 1977.
Being offered a position with a newly acquired California division of Bailey Control Components, Bill moved his family across the country to Irvine, California in 1980. Bill's positive outlook, integrity, engaging personality, perseverance and competitive spirt made him a natural salesman in the Process Controls Industry. During his sales career Bill traveled to 28 counties becoming one of the top earners in his division.
Bill leaves behind his loving wife, Barbara, his adoring daughter Megan Carey, and awesome grandson Brawlin; in addition his brothers James, Donald and Timothy, his sister Erin and Elyse, and his many nieces and nephews. We will always cherish and remember the special person he was, so incredibly kind, thoughtful, caring, loving, generous and loyal. Bill will always live forever in our hearts and our cherished memories. Bill will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at a future date.

My thoughts and prayers to all the Carters on the loss of Billy. I remember his fondly along with all the family from our North Greenbush neighborhood. He was kind and friendly and like all his siblings, smart and good looking. I always felt welcome in the Carter home. Please know that I am thinking about you all at this time. Cindy Doring
